No, I was never able to get it to work right. Since I can't control the volume from the command prompt, I can't launch one window muted and a hidden one at max volume, so that it can speak what is happening. As a temporary solution, I got a little hackey. I have an ADAM I/O board connected to a little voice playback module that plays from a selection of prerecorded messages when activated. This solution is definitely not ideal, but we're making it work.

If I were to have a suggestion for a future version of NX Witness, it would be more fine-grained control over the audio and volume. For example, I'd like the option to give/remove access to sound from video. I don't want our live monitors to be able to hear audio, but we do want to preserve it in case needed. Also it would be great to be able to have a --noaudio flag for launching via command line.

    Thanks!

    Hi Johnathan Powell,

Noted. Currently, I don't see a solution for the challenge you're facing, however, I have seen changes in the user roles which define if a user can use audio or not. Unfortunately, I don't know the ETA for this feature.

I'll move this topic to our Feature Feedback section, so our product team can read along and might be able to provide some insight in this matter.

Also, our design team follows the topics in the Feature Feedback section to collect feedback about specific features, and they likely benefit from your comments as well.
