Update Release Schedule
AnsweredHi,
Is there a typical release schedule for NX Witness Server/Client updates? or do they just get released randomly when needed.
Curious how others are maintaining multiple NX systems under their control. Essentially i want to create scheduled tickets to prompt staff to check customer systems and apply latest updates etc. I know that NX default is to check for updates, but it wont apply them automatically.
I couldn't see an email notification (event rules) option for this either. (to alert us that an update is out) maybe i will need to look at http://demo.networkoptix.com:7001/static/api.xml#group_Server_API_method_createEvent to create one?
Thanks!

Hi @...,
There is no fixed date for the releases. Of course there are internal target dates, but history learned that there is always that last minute bug that has to be resolved before release of that project-winning feature that has to be added before release which makes it impossible to provide a reliable release date for release version.
But, nothing to worry, after the soft-release, the release will be pushed to all systems that are connected to the internet and the administrators will get a notification when they start the Nx Desktop client that a new version is available. As soon as the administrators installed the new release, the other user will get a notification that a new version of the Nx Witness Desktop client will be downloaded and installed, so they can continue to use the Nx Witness Desktop application.
Beside the released version, we also have monthly patches, which typically will be released in the first or second week of the month, but delay occur when nothing significant has to be resolved or when we want to add a certain feature that take some more time to create. This month, the patch will be release this week, which is later than it usually is.
The patches can be downloaded from my.networkoptix.com/#/download and check the tab Monthly Patch. Release notes can be found there as well.
Some more information about Nx versions can be read in THIS support article.
