Distributed system with multiple servers
AnsweredWe are doing a lot of temporary installs and are evaluating possibilities with NX.
The idea we are playing with is to create a unit consisting of 3 cameras, a router with LTE and WIFI-mesh and an ARM-based server for NX connected to the NX cloud.
Is it possible to add multiple servers (10-20-30?) to an ops-center to receive events from all the different serves in one place?
We do everything from citywide events to construction sites to concerts and this would help significantly on logistics.
All the best

Hi Martin Mathisen,
From a software perspective, merging all servers together, until a maximum of 100, and manage them from a single location works just fine. From the hardware perspective, ARM based SBC are probably not your best choice for such system, since the throughput (CPU/RAM/NIC) often aren't fast enough to keep up with the hive synchronization.

Hi Norman. Thank you for your quick reply!
Will events and alarms be displayed as a single feed or pr server? Lets say you are an video-alarm center: Could i have 100 servers, meaning 100 houses, and have a way of organizing incoming alarms from camera analytics from the various servers? is there any documentation on this?

Hi Martin,
The notification panel collects all events, the naming rule of the camera could reveal the house.
But also, descriptions in the event by itself can clarify the situation, depending on what you used to create the event.Regarding the documentation, most information can be found in the in-client manual. I say most since many people create their own integration plugins with our Nx Meta VMP or use Generic Events, but the manual covers the majority of situations.
