Is it possible to force an analytic plugin?
AnsweredI have a Wisenet QNV-8080R that I'm running in DW Spectrum (version info pasted below). The QNV-8080R is on firmware 1.41.03_20200915_R264. The plugins tab on the camera settings does not show up at all. The DW system lists the vendor for the camera as Samsung Techwin. I have some Dahua cameras running with the analytics plugin working fine. This Wisenet cam has line crossing and area analytics which I have configured in the camera. I don't know if it matters if I have the analytic set to record though. I don't have an SD card in the camera, but I did check the record checkbox.
Another reason I would like to be able to force a plugin is when using OEM dahua cameras that don't have dahua badged firmware. Just the generic "IP Camera" badging. It seems like it works sometimes but not always until I move it to a badged firmware.
DW Spectrum Client version 4.2.0.32660 (9e690709e1db).
Built for windows-x64 with msvc.
OpenGL version: 4.6.0 - Build 27.20.100.9168.
OpenGL renderer: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620.
OpenGL vendor: Intel.
OpenGL max texture size: 16384.
Server DESKTOP-B1IACJ4 (10.188.74.100): v4.2.0.32660

Hi Calvin Wientjes,
The plugin for Hanwha cameras is owned by Hanwha and is only available for Hanwha Wave and Nx Witness.
Dahua OEMs can benefit from the Dahua analytics, but therefore they need a unique vendor and model name, since other manufacturers also use General|IP camera as the Vendor and Model names and this could cause issues. See also THIS topic regarding this subject.

Ahhh that clears up the Hanwha part.
I’ll check out the other topic on the generic firmwares. Thanks
