Hardware recommendation
AnsweredHi Everyone
Can we use 8GB Ram with a server Intel Pentium G5400 2C+1 54W 3.7GHz Processor
44 Cam and 60 TB HDD
can we use 16 TB HDDs

Hi Fred,
The short answer is yes. That CPU and RAM should be sufficient for a server with 44 cameras.
60TB or even 16TB should be more than enough space, but that requirement may change depending on archive retention time and the quality of footage, etc.
You can always use the Nx System calculator to estimate server requirements/storage/specs: http://nx.networkoptix.com/calculator/
It really depends on many variables - we have a reference for Desktop Client / Server hardware specs for different general setups:
Nx Witness Server Hardware Specs
Nx Witness Desktop Client Hardware Specs
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks a lot Derek for your prompt response ,we are thinking to use NAS drive so I have couple of questions for you:
1-for a better redundancy should we have the NAS drive taking care of a RAID ? ,I am under impression NX recognise the NAS server as single volume?
2-can NX witness keep the redundancy without having RAID enabled
3- can we use both Internal and NAS drive for recording ?

Hi Fred,
1. Additional storage units will be helpful for data redundancy, including using RAID formats.
Correct, each added NAS will be viewable as a single drive on Nx Witness.
2. Without RAID, you can still achieve redundancy in the sense that all archive data can be copied (in this case, to a NAS drive) using the built-in Server Backup settings in Nx Witness.
3. Yes, you can use both.
