Joystick control for PTZ in public space
AnsweredPlease can you advise when you will have support for more than one Joystick keyboard with regards to PTZ control?
Most CCTV control rooms have more than operator position, with each position requiring ability to control PTZ functions via a joystick.
With the current limitations we will not be able to propose NetworkOptix, 90% of the CCTV systems in UK have a mandatory requirement for Joystick control.

Hi @...,
In a system as a whole, any Desktop Client can have a dedicated joystick. So please elaborate the limitations you encounter at the moment?
Ps. I'll move this topic to the New Feature Ideas section, where we gather all feedback regarding existing and desired features.

Do you have any proven hardware Joystick keyboard solution?

Hello Scott, Piotr,
We are working on the integration with the SPC-2000 joystick. It should be ready quite soon.
Also in 4.2 we added the ability to control PTZ cameras with keyboard arrows, with which you can use almost joystick, able to emulate keyboard arrows.

Hi,
It will be possible to connect other joystick via ubs emulation? When do you plan to release a new version of NX with working integration with SPC-2000 joystick?

Currently, the Axis T8311 is officially supported. The Hanwha SPC-2000 will be integrated in the future. At this moment version 4.3 seems to be the most likely version, but there are still quite some hurdles to take.
I have seen other USB joysticks working as well, but with some limitations. Often the buttons don't do anything. I have even seen someone using a Logitech Joystick for computer games.
That being said, mouse and/or keyboard controls are still considered the better option.
