Enable/disable client's PTZ function via API

Hello,

Is there a way to enable PTZ function on layout item via API after adding PTZ camera to layout?

In my scenario editing of layouts is done via API calls, client's end user has only joystick to handle camera pan/tilt/zoom, so it's important to activate PTZ function without using mouse.

 

...or is it possible to set some option to always enable PTZ function after adding such camera to layout?

  This is a good question, thanks! We did some improvements in 4.3 regarding the joystick functionality. The PTZ mode on the camera item should be activated automatically on receiving joystick command. Can you check if it works for you in our early developer preview of 4.3, Nx Meta 4.3? You can download it from here: https://meta.nxvms.com/downloads/patches
