Dahua cameras do not appear in subnet scan
AnsweredWe recently installed a new server using the latest version of NX.
At first we were able to add all of the cameras on site, after a short period of time we needed to change the IP address of a few cameras and after doing so we were unable to re-add the cameras to the system.
in total we re-addressed 7 cameras, 3 worked fine after the change and 4 did not.
We can still access the cameras webfront via the network and we can add them to a different recording system.
Note: when we modified the IP of the above mentioned cameras all that was changed was the fourth octet. i.e address change from 10.1.1.10 to 10.1.1.11.

Hello Aled Jones,
First, try using the ONVIF Device Manager tool.
Please check THIS article and follow the steps described in it.
Then let us know the results.
Thanks.

Thanks for your swift response!
Shortly after posting this message I thought id run a scan to search for cameras using their default login credentials...and believe it or not it worked!
I am still using the modified credentials to log into the webfront of the camera as well as using these credentials on another NVR, yet NX will only connect to them via their default credentials....
so i assume there is an ONVIF account in the cameras that still has the default password despite there not being a menu to change it!

Thanks for your information, it may be useful in other similar posts.
If I understood you correctly, you were able to add cameras.
If so, can we change the status of the post to "Answered"?0 -
Consider my question answered!
Worth noting the cameras that are only connecting via their default credentials are around 5 Years old.
we haven't experienced similar issues with more recent Dahua cameras.

Hi Aled Jones,
If only the default credentials are accepted, while others that were set aren't accepted, I would check if this could be resolved with newer firmware.

Hi,
I have a similar issue, where Nx server is not finding an Axis Q315.The server is unable to find the camera using manual add, nor using subnet scan.
Auto discovery is enabled.> Server and Camera are on same subnet and same IP range.
> Camera accessible via webpage at IP address, and working normally.
> Server can successfully ping Camera at IP address (tested with SSH command)
> Tested with ONVIF disabled, and enabledNx Server: 4.2.0.32840
Camera: Axis Q3515 FW10.9.40 -
Hi Justin C,
I requested access to an Axis Q3515 of the Axis HQ with the same firmware and didn't notice any issues.

What I would do in your case is doing a factory default of the camera, and try again.
If, after the reset, you still fail to connect to the camera, and you're able to provide remote access to Nx Witness and the Axis camera we can investigate the issue in your system.

Hi Norman
A factory reset of the camera worked. The device is working normally with Nx now.
Thanks,

Great news Justin C!
