    Hello @...,

8mbps is the normal bit rate for a 1080p camera.
Can you provide us some more information, please:
    1. For what purpose do you want to lower the quality, what do you want to achive?
    2. What is the camera model?

    1. its leagally required for us to keep recordings for one year and i am limited on storage so i want to reduece the space for recording , what i wanna achieve is reduce the bitrate to around 3mbps even if reduce the resolution as i dint need 1080p recording

    2. its a legacy custom made system with camcorders and hdmi encoders that have only one option for output and doesnt have the option to stream different bitrates

    Hi @...,

    1. You can reduce the bandwidth in the Camera Settings menu, tab Recording by changing the quality or under More Settings move the slider to the left to reduce the bandwidth.

If you want to change the Resolution, please check the Camera Settings menu, tab Advanced, you can change the resolution for the Primary stream. For the secondary stream, please keep it at 320x240 or 640x480 at 7 fps.
    2. If streams are grabbed as an RTSP stream of a virtual camera, the bandwidth should be set in the source; e.g. the camcorder or the HDMI encoder.
