I figured it out. The camera I used was not active. It appears that bookmarks temporarily work for inactive cameras, but then disappear.

Adding and using them for an active camera worked fine.

It seems like it should either work or respond with an error, but not partially work.

    Hello Kyle,

what do you mean by "not active"? Was the camera in the disconnected state or recording was off?

    Problem 1

But I cannot read bookmarks via calls like this. It always returns an empty array.

    http://192.168.1.42:7001/ec2/bookmarks?cameraId=b62e4641-1816-d35d-d01c-884a0055a119

This can happen if you create bookmark via API for the camera which doesn't have any video archive data and video recording is off.

    Problem 2

I can search for the bookmarks I added via the client and it shows for a while. But after a while, the bookmarks disappear.

Could you please provide scenario how to reproduce this issue? Like do you turn off recording for the camera or doing something for the bookmarks to disappear?

    * Have two cameras attached to the network.

    * Setup one properly.

    * Leave the other not setup because it has a login and password.

    * Via the API, add a bookmark to the camera that is *not* setup.

    * Observe, the bookmark shows up in search in the client

    * Observe, you cannot see the bookmark in an API call like http://192.168.1.42:7001/ec2/bookmarks?cameraId=b62e4641-1816-d35d-d01c-884a0055a119

    * Observe, after an hour or so, the bookmark no longer shows in the client

Do you use the NX version 4.2.032658?

I also cant request the thumbnail through NX port with NX 4.2 because the restriction of SSL certificate. It's work normally with NX 4.1 where the SSL is certified  by window

    Hi Kyle,

I'm no longer able to reproduce your issue on the latest Meta VMS release 4.3.0.32924 R2, so it seems that it was fixed. Could you please you please check meta VMS build 4.3.0.32924 R2 to confirm that the issue isn't present from your side?
