    Hi Raymond,

    sorry for the late reply.

    I believe in your case the database with the motion has been lost and cannot be associated with the archive  using the archive reindex process, right?

    If so, we understand the problem, but it's not clear how exactly this problem can be solved, as the backing up  system configuration / restoring backup is to some extend is the manual process. We can improve documentation / support articles, maybe add some info banners to the backup dialogs which will be warning users that the motion data will not be backed up.

    Also it is possible to add an option to include the motion database ti the backup.

    Anyway, thank you for the feedback. We'll note it and try to do something.

    Hi there,

    Your understanding is correct that customer could no longer using Smart Search for archive that recorded prior to the re-installation of OS.

    Would be great if more backup options will be included, like the motion index.  Your support team has forwarded me the backup document specifically on which file(s) should be copied, etc but requires additional works and time.

    Hence, is it possible to fix the motion index in case of any DB corruption?  just like to re-index of HDD feature currently has.
