AXIS Live Privacy Shield
AnsweredHi all
I am installing AXIS cameras on a NX site. I want to deploy the AXIS Live Privacy Shield which can blur the people moving around. The add-in APP on the AXIS camera allows you to view the image with the blur but also view the image without the blur. I can see the 2 different scenarios with IE but can only get the blurred image in NX.
Has anyone had any success with this AXIS add on ?
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul Pisani,
Sorry, don't have any experience with it.
It would be interesting to understand how the feature works. If it works as streams with and without the overlay, you could consider adding the camera twice to the system.
Once as the native stream according to the Axis integration, that also records and once as the blurred RTSP stream and then on the user level decide to which stream they have access to.
Downside is that if you require both profiles to be played back, you also would need two recording licenses. Rules can be applied to both profiles with some creativity, that isn't the issue.

Hi Norman
So I have been playing around with it and can confirm that it does use primary stream for non blurred and the secondary stream as the blurred image. When NX finds the camera automatically, it allocates two streams rtsp://192.168.0.90:554/axis-media/media.amp?streamprofile=hdwitnessPrimary & rtsp://192.168.0.90:554/axis-media/media.amp?streamprofile=hdwitnessSecondary. For whatever reason, both of these streams are the blurred image. If I manually add the camera as a RTSP stream rtsp://192.168.0.90/axis-media/media.amp?camera=1 and rtsp://192.168.0.90/axis-media/media.amp?camera=2 then I can view both the blurred and unblurred images ???
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul Pisani,
Thank you for the heads-up. That might lead to the right solution.
I reached out to Axis to see if I can get access to a camera with the Axis Live Privacy Shield and see what we can do.I'll let you know, when I know more.

Hi Paul Pisani,
Unfortunately my options are limited since I do not have physical access to such a device and with a remote device, I fail to do a proper set up.
Via THIS LINK you can find a document I got from the Axis team about how to set up a second stream without the Privacy mask. If you get stuck with the instructions, please reach out to your local Axis support team and these should be able to inform you how to set up the cameras.
