NTP server with no Internet ?

Hi,
We just confirmed a project with Nx on a Prison, for security reason we have no access to Internet...
Furthermore we are using Thermal camera (HIKVISION) for intrusion detection, that work with Nx using analitycs event.
The issue we got is that for some reason the IPC and server got a small delay, that is an huge issue while using bookmark for intrusion (playback and bookmark are not synchronized anymore).
The best for me would be to setup an NTP function in camera dealing with Nx Server, like time.server_ip_adress.com (just and example).
Or do you have any advice to run it smoothly ?

Although the provided information if somewhat limited (a screen recording is helpful in this case), I'm pretty confident that the suggested solution isn't the solution for the issue you experience.
It is known that in case of events for some Hikvision cameras the timestamp, provided by the camera, doesn't match the actual event.
In a nutshell, the following happens:
- Camera detects event
- Camera sends event to the Nx server
- Server receives the event
- Server processes the event and adds the applicable action, a bookmark in this example.
The issue is that the time between step 1 and 2 takes too long, seconds instead of milliseconds.
And the only way to circumvent it, is to set the pre-recording of the bookmark to a longer period of time, so it gets closer to the actual event.
If you want to confirm this offset, you could verify this with a tool like Wireshark.
That being said, our developers are also aware of this issue and are trying to resolve it from our side as well

We have the same issue in the past with an ANPR camera (talked about it with James C. from Nx)
Cameras and server got a 3 minutes delay, and we got the same delay in the bookmark...

The video shows the issues I tried to explain, and it is the same the ANPR issue and unrelated to any timeserver.
I'll link to this topic in our internal issue tracker, to emphasize the problem that exists with this integration.
The current status is that we target to resolve it in a 4.2 patch with a target date of April 2021. But due to the complexity of the issue, I can't make any solid commitments regarding this.

Hi,
We got no issue while using NTP server, for our prison project I will see if customer can provide a local NTP server to synchronize.
As to 4.2 we all hope to get it soon, would be good for sure to improve that function too.

If you want to connect to an NTP server, but don't have an internet connection available, I could recommend using the Veracity TimeNET Pro.
