Adding HIK NVR
AnsweredHi. I am trying to add HIK NVR DS-7732NI-I4(B). I downgraded it from .016 to V4.40.015 build 200616 and now I am able to add the device (it will be discovered when i give the ip and credentials. But, most streams are wrong and does not work. For example the first stream of first channel is rtsp://192.168.1.68:554/ISAPI/Streaming/channels/101, but for channels 2-6 same URL was discoverd, but it should end in /201 /301 /401 and so on.
Also a playback of some other streams i can play with vlc does not work, i found some log entries interesting:
WARNING QnMulticodecRtpReader(0x7f3f8c82a600): Failed to create track parser for codec: [MP4V-ES]
Are there some other packages needed? I installed on ubuntu server 20.04 (clean fresh). I will now try to upgrade the NVR to highest version.
Also, there seems to be a problem if the stream is encoded? (for hik cloud access) Not sure how to deal with it.
Thx

I come a few steps furher:
- MP4V says it's not able to play MPEG4
- I have trouble playing some H.264 streams from older Vivotec IPC, it shows an overlay "NO SOURCE" (if i remember correct), but the stream is shown in the backgroud of this overlay!
- The streams from HIK NVR are not added correctly, if i add them one by one manually they work0 -
Hi Piotr,
Can the device be found in the Onvif Device Manager?

Yes, the NVR device with all streams is discovered correctly with Onvif Device Manager (i found it in other topic here). All streams are correct in ODM.

Hi @...,
I just got notified that this device has some Onvif integration flaws, that should be resolved by the Hikvision team.
I assume not all channels are used by a camera?
It appears that when not all channels are in use, the device doesn't provide the correct channel information.
Please, also report this to you Hikvision supplier.

Hi Norman. Of course i would understand it, but, when ODM shows all streams correctly, how can i tell my suppiler there is something wrong? About channels, it is true, not all channels are allocated.

Hi Piotr,
If you want to provide all information to the supplier, I would recommend that you create a Wireshark capture of the initialization process.
Please take the following steps to the capture of the relevant information for the supplier.
- Remove the NVR from the VMS.
- Start Wireshark with the NVR as the capture filter.
- Allow the VMS to auto-discover the NVR
- Wait until the initialization is done
- Stop Wireshark en save the capture and share this with the vendor.

Hi. Thank You, but You are not answering my question. What is wrong with the NVR software, when the onvif manager identifies all channels without any problem and mistake?

HI @...,
Provide the pcapng, and I'll try to show you.
