interested in nxwitness but want to use Spectrum DW NVR hardware

I'm interested in setting up nxwitness for a small 6 camera setup for my home but I can't seem to find a small modular system with redundancy (OS drive mirroring, dual nic or quad nics...etc.) that will fit my needs.  I was thinking of getting a Spectrum DW NVR since all the hardware is supposedly certified with the software but not sure if it allows you to use a external NAS (I have a Synology) and if there is a Ubuntu-only NVR.

 

Has anyone here used the Spectrum DW hardware?

  Dear @...,

  When you buy DW hardware, it will contain DW software, which, in case of DW Spectrum, is 99.99% identical to our Nx Witness. The certification of the hardware is something that is certified by Digital Watchdog. Network Optix doesn't certify hardware.

  In case they deploy the hardware with DW Spectrum, you should be able to add a Synology NAS as external storage. Also, it is very likely DW hardware will use Ubuntu, but this needs to be confirmed by Digital Watchdog.
