HIKVISION ANALYTICS: HIKVISION-CGI not being recognised?
AnsweredBackground:
I am running 7 HikVision cameras, 5 are ColorVu turrets and 2 are ColorVu bullets.
The turrets integrate perfectly into NX Witness. However, the bullets are having some issues with smart events.
The Issue:
My HikVision bullet cameras are only being recognised in NX Witness through ONVIF...the usual HikVision-CGI mode is ticked in the camera settings but not being recognised by NX. As a result I can then not run smart event analytics in NX (as NX is not compatible with ONVIF for smart event analytics).
How do I get NX to recognise the camera through HikVision-CGI?
Note: if I disable ONVIF in camera settings then the camera disconnects from NX Witness and is no accessible.
The bullet camera model is DS-2CD2T47G1-L (but for some weird reason the system is recognising it as DS-2CD2T47G3-L). Is this normal or is this the source of my issues?
The firmware is 5.6.820 build 220519

Hello Ben Williams,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to discuss with you about the Hikvision device that you added as an Onvif device. Based on my experience, if the camera doesn't respond correctly to the Hikvision ISAPI requests, it can sometimes result in it being added as an Onvif device. However, this is not something I've personally encountered during the discovery process.
If you'd like to confirm this behavior, you can check the discovery process through Wireshark. On another note, it's more common for the camera not to be recognized as a Hikvision device, and instead, have a different Vendor name.
Would it be possible for you to share a screenshot or the Camera Setting menu, tab General, that reveals the following information?
- Vendor name
- Model name
- RTSP urls
This would greatly help me in determining the issue and moving to the next step.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best regards.
