Hikvision RTP Packet Loss
In ProgressHi,
I work for Total Communications and we have recently upgraded a site to NX. The site was a mix of Hikvision and some Dahua cameras but we are having an issue with only the Hikvision cameras where we are getting and RTP error in primary and sometime in secondary stream. Some of the errors are showing more info like (failed to perse RTP packet, invalid packet per NAL:0,first:1491,current: 10162. These numbers will change but they can show the same format of message.
I have been through the site today and upgraded the firmware on the cameras and lowered the frame rate to 8 with the quality set to high. Although the system is a lot better with issues, it still is getting RTP issues. Is there anything else that might cause this without having to reduce the video quality too much that might fix this.

Hi Justin Lucas,
I would lower the quality to medium and check a screenshot of before and after. The difference will be hardly noticeable when it regards to image quality, but it reduces the load a lot on the camera.
I'm not sure which information you already read, but THIS support article covers the issue the most.
Inadequate camera buffers are the most common issue, and is likely in your case since one works just fine, while the other doesn't.
So I would capture the communications with Wireshark and determine which device is causing the packet loss. If server, we're happy to know and we'll check it. If the camera is causing it, please report it to the applicable camera manufacturer.
