Hi, I will have the following scenario in the near future:

Multiple NX servers, with limited local storage and limited budget to upgrade. But have access to large amount of storage offsite over a slowish link. And we need to be able to retain 30 days footage for every camera and have it available at anytime through the NX clients.

My question or "New Feature Idea" is, can NX store the most recent 1 to 2 days of video on the server's local storage and put the balance, 28 to 29 days, offsite.

  Malcolm,

   

  Officially, we do not have any of these settings available at the moment, but here is what you can do:

  - main storage should be only big enough to store 2 days of recording

  - backup device will store all the 30 days of recording or any desired period of time

  So far, that's the only way to create a loop. Unfortunately you will only be able to go 2 days back using a main archive as it would get re-written every 2 days.

  Thanks lgal,

  I thought that was the case. Hopefully in the future you guys can look at something to easily view backup archives from within the client interface.
