Hi Jeff Jones,
As mentioned in the other topic you started,
I never tried it on a television. But I had an Android TV box in the past and that worked just fine. Be aware that such applications aren't intended for 24/7 use, and might crash or freeze over time.
To be honest, I do not expect Chromecast or Apple TV support on a short notice. -
Working on Amazon Fire, Google Chromecast - and of course our own version on the Nx1. We do have an Apple TV app in prototype stage as well.

Excited to hear about those.
How about Roku though? Is the Amazon Fire decision a by-product of being Android based, and therefore easier to port over than for Roku?
Or what about Google TV, particularly the new nVidia Shield TV with Google Assistant (and paired with the nVidia SPOT)? It would be super cool to say "Ok Google show me camera 4 on the conference room TV" (or living room, bedroom, or wherever) and have it pull that up.
I realize I just took this in a whole different direction with that last bit.

Are there any updates or timelines on this? We are very keen to find another display option now that the Nx1 lite client is being phased out. We have been using the Intel Skull Canyon Nuc but would be great to find something cheaper.
Ideally Apple TV or an Android TV based app would be awesome

Hey Harry -
Why not use an Intel Compute Stick? They work great with our full client and they're very affordable.
Also much more stable than either Apple TV or Google Chromecast from our experience.1 -
Hi Tony,
We've tried an Intel Breeze 7th Gen Core i5 NUC w/ 4GB RAM and found it couldn't handle 4 streams very well. I think our biggest issue is cameras with H.265. Do you have any recommendations on how to bring the CPU usage down without swapping back to H.264 (and without compromising image quality)?

Has there not been any further development on this idea besides my daydreams about it?
A Smart TV client would be pretty handy to have I would think. With the proliferation of Android TVs from HiSense, Sharp, Phillips, Sony, etc, having a client that runs right in the TV without additional hardware is something I would like to see.
I would think the base code from the Android phone client could make the porting to a 10FT interface for TVs somewhat easy.
