Nx features
Hi there!
Two practical questions:
1. When we work in fast-forward\rewind mode and subsequent playback - after finding the desired fragment we stop fast-rewind mode, we should be able to play back recordings at normal speed. However, when we press the "Play" button, we return to the same fast-forward mode. This is not normal system behavior, as fast-forward mode is only needed for searching and then viewing recordings at normal speed. Currently, the operator must return the rewind speed to normal mode, and only then can they view recordings at normal speed.
This is observed in fast-forward mode in both directions.
I should note that the behavior of our closest competitors' video surveillance software in fast-forward and playback mode is exactly the same: after stopping fast-forward, playback returns to normal mode. In the case of Nx, this is a programming error or an incorrect task.
2. Rewinding recordings in 10-second increments is very important feature, but it isn't a top priority when working with cameras. In previous Nx versions, when the PTZ camera window became active, the keyboard arrow keys immediately provided camera control. Now, this priority is given to rewinding in 10-second increments. To enable PTZ control, we must activate this mode by clicking the symbol in the upper-right corner of the PTZ camera window. This complicates the operator's work, and in terms of how often they access operating modes, the operator controls the PTZ camera much more often than they use fast rewind in recordings.
Suggestion: restore PTZ control immediately after activating the window, and use a keyboard shortcut for fast rewinding—for example, P + Arrow Keys.
Additionally - may be not for here, but must be mentioned:
If audio access is disabled in the user's default settings (not admin), audio will still be present in the channel—both in cameras with a physically connected microphone and in cameras with software-enabled audio.
