    Hello Ido,

    > When changing the camera's password using - the following API call

After that, do you change the password on the camera itself to the new one through camera's web interface?

    Hi.,

Yes, we do update the camera password simultaneously.

The version we are working with is 4.0.0.29987 (which is used by a specific client)

    Thanks.

I highly recommend you to update to the latest release of version 4.1.

It works fine for me with 4.1 in my lab.

    Hi Andrey,

Are  you performing this flow when the camera has an active stream? We have seen that if the stream is active, the status of the camera is stable and online and the issue does not reproduce.

In case there is no active stream (e.g.f you exit the stream view or don't open it at all), the camera status changes to Offline after ~ 1 min.

The issue reproduces even on the latest 4.1 version.
We tried it on an Axis camera.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Ido,

I got confused. Could you please describe step-by-step reproduction scenario?

    Here is a template.

    Environment:
Nx Witness Version: <Provide version + build number like x.x.x.xxxxx>
Client OS: <Provide version + build number of the OS you use on your client computer>
Server OS: <Provide version + build number of the OS you use on your server computer

Reproduction Scenario: <Provide a detailed description to reproduce the issue. The more details you provide, the better.>

    Expected behavior:

    Actual behavior:

Attachments: <Add any download links you may have for information or files such as logs, screenshots, screen recordings.>

    Environment:
    Nx Witness Version: 4.0.0.29785 | 4.1.0.31398
    Client OS: 4.0.0.29785 | 4.1.0.31398  |  Windows 10
    Server OS: 4.0.0.29785 | 4.1.0.31398  |  Windows 10

    Reproduction Scenario:

    • Camera connected with no active stream (camera view closed)
    • Update camera credentials on both camera as well as VMS -
      ec2/setResourceParams
      body: [{"name":"credentials", "resourceId":"<cameraId>","value":"<username>:<password>"}]

Expected behavior: Camera remains connected and authenticated

    Actual behavior:

    1. After 1 minute the camera status indicates offline and diagnostics log/message indicates " to many media errors"
    2. When opening the camera view after ~1 minute the connection is reestablished with the updated credentials. If the camera view is not opened the camera will remain offline.
    3. To reproduce the issue you have to change the credentials on both ends (camera and VMS) when camera view is closed. (in a live environment most camera view remain closed)

If any clarifications are required I will be happy to jump on a quick call and share my screen.

    Thanks for you help

The issue is camera specific and was not reproduced on other cameras.
It was not possible to debug the issue without remote access to the camera.
    The ticket was closed.
