    Hello Roman,

What is the Media Server version you're dealing with?

Please send me an example of URI you request.
I have just tested this method on my server and I am able to navigate through video while playing it with a proper media player.

It would be cool if you also share the part of the archive you're playing with exported to *.nov using the Nx Witness Desktop client.

    >Also, is there an option to get the size of the downloaded file so I can report download progress ?
Unfortunately, right now it's impossible. Maybe this improvement will be implemented in future versions.

    Hi Sergey,

The relative uri I am using is hls/117e3fa5-0d69-2503-c3d1-654c4058f04f.mkv?pos=1587388985956&duration=70

The media server version is 4.0.0.29987

VLC is able to play the exported files and seek, but windows media player fails to play them.

I am not able to export to nov format (I am getting settings are not available fro .NOV and .EXE files)

    Regards

    Hi Roman,

Sorry for the delay. As far as I know, Windows Media Player does not natively support the mkv format.

Moreover, if some codec packs are installed, there's still a chance WMP won't play the track if there's anything it won't like.

When you download the files using API, server sends native data received from the camera. Usually it's h264 or h265 coded video.

Default Windows Media Player can not play it back and requires extra codec pack to be installed.

To be honest, it was never a goal to make files downloadable via API playable in WMP.

But maybe in future we'll add such an option.
