Camera order in the tree and when pulling groups of cameras into the layout view

I had a customer call with a couple of questions today.
1. Is there a way to sort by camera IP address in the tree vs. the typical numeric/alphabetic order it defaults to? I know you can find a list of cameras by server and sort the cameras many different ways there. But no way to modify order in the tree itself as far as I can determine.
2. After naming cameras in an order that will show in the tree list as they would like... If the customer hilights a group or all cameras in the tree and drags them into the layout... the order the cameras fill the layout is not sequential.
Example. Cameras are named 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. They are in sequential order in the tree. If I highlight all cameras in order from 1 to 10 and drag them into the layout, the order they are in is not 1,2,3,4 etc across the top and down.
Across the top row there are 4 cameras... in order from left to right in each row
10,5,7,1
2,3,4
9,6,8
I can clarify if needed. The customer noted that they bother to name cameras in a way that they flow in the tree, why wouldn't that hold when they populate the layout?

Sorry for the delay in response.
- Unfortunately, there's no way to change the order right now. The resources are sorted automatically. But thank you for the input. We'll consider the order customization for the future versions scope.
- I get what you mean, thank you. When you drag the cameras to the "New layout" the order is pretty randomized. Later one it's easy to redistribute them though. There is no strict logic for that at the moment. We'll think about improvements though, thanks for the heads up.

The scenario was simply one of our integrators asking about how they could sort the tree in a simple way when they do installations for the customer. Putting the cameras in a particular order.
The sorting of the tree is typically done by front-naming each camera with a number. This is the workaround.
Typically the customers turn on detailed information in the tree to see IP addresses. Then front names by the last 3 IP digits.
EX..
101 Front Entry
102 Side Entry
103 Cafeteria
Or we will throw a digit on the front end to get the tree to sort the way we need.

Typically just a digit on the front end of the camera name to put it into order vs. alphabetic.
1 Cafeteria
2 Employee Entrance
3 Zamboni Storage
4.Octopus Tank
5 Larry's Office

We’ve discussed the idea of ip sorting internally. The point is that it covers only few use cases. What could fulfil most requests for tree sorting is allowing to change devices order manually e.g. by drag&drop. But this feature requires much more time and resources than we have to be developed on short notice. But we’ll try to keep this issue in mind when planning future releases.
