Which hardware affect Storage Bandwidth?
AnsweredWhich hardware affect Storage Bandwidth Like RAM CPU or NIC?

Hello Chaim,
The answer depends on the platform. For Intel architecture, in most cases, the number of hard drives is the only thing affecting Storage Bandwith, so total bandwidth is a minimal number between NIC and Storage Bandwith.
You can estimate expected bandwidth depending on hardware using our System Calculator: http://networkoptix.com/calculator/
For ARM architecture, the situation is a bit more complicated. For example, the storage interface could be implemented as SATA-over-USB with USB protocol processing on CPU, then the CPU might become a factor that affects recording speed, or USB protocol itself could create limitation. Or maybe NIC is implemented as a software stack and calculated on CPU, then CPU limits NIC throughput.
This heavily depends on the specific board and needs to be carefully tested.

Thanks we are using Intel i7

will the more core on the Processor give better performance ?

Hi Chaim,
For Nx Server, it will not make a significant difference, but more powerful CPU can improve Nx Client experience on that computer, or could be useful to run third-party applications on the same machine (such as some video analytics solution)
