Hey Tim - you can do that now by creating a rule and choose "When Server Started" action with a corresponding "Send Email" action in the Events & Rules Engine.

Hey Tony, actually you suggestion doesn't solve this. The "Server Started" event only activates if a server is seen to restart not if communications to that server is lost then restored such as a failure of network (Connection to server is lost).

Matt and Tim are correct . Currently we have no notification solution to knowing when Server networks are restored. It's a manual check process.

Don't know if this will help you in your situation...., and i agree a restoral notification would be nice. I use UptimeRobot.com to monitor all of my clients servers for internet connectivity. It simply pings the server every minute and emails me if the ping fails, and when it is restored. The free account only checks every 5 minutes, but for $7.40 per month it pings every minute for up to 100 servers.

It would stand to reason that if your servers are pingable from Uptime Robot, then they should be able to connect to each other.

    Just my .02

Matt - you're right. Looks like a good feature we need to add here.

Hi Paul, I have also been using Uptime Robot for this purpose for a while now and it works great! It's my most reliable solution to notify me of system's being accessible or not.

It would be great though if NX could send restoral events so we could have fully automated monitoring through our monitoring centre.
