DAHUA FACIAL RECOGNITION IN NX VMS
Answered
Hi, I’d like to inquire about the integration capabilities between Dahua AI-powered cameras (specifically those with facial recognition features) and the NX Optix VMS platform.
1. Is it possible to collect and utilize facial recognition data generated by Dahua AI cameras directly within the NX Optix system?
2. If so, what are the specific configurations or system requirements needed to enable this integration (e.g., firmware versions, ONVIF support, metadata handling)?
3. Are there any licensing requirements, restrictions, or known limitations with regards to data access, privacy compliance, or cross-vendor compatibility?
4. Finally, is this type of AI event (facial recognition) natively supported by NX Optix, or would it require additional middleware or SDK development?
Any guidance, documentation, or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello Prince Tacuyan ,
The in-house developed Analytics Plugin for the Dahua cameras does not support facial recognition as of today.
So answering your questions:
1. Is it possible to collect and utilize facial recognition data generated by Dahua AI cameras directly within the NX Optix system?
No, it is impossbile since facial recognition is not supported - thus not being saved by any means by the Nx software.
2. If so, what are the specific configurations or system requirements needed to enable this integration (e.g., firmware versions, ONVIF support, metadata handling)?
3. Are there any licensing requirements, restrictions, or known limitations with regards to data access, privacy compliance, or cross-vendor compatibility?
Not applicable as there is no support for this feature.
4. Finally, is this type of AI event (facial recognition) natively supported by NX Optix, or would it require additional middleware or SDK development?
It would require an additional development using the Analytics/Metadata SDK.
Any guidance, documentation, or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I would recommend starting with “How to get started” Knowledge Base section of the “Development Program”:
https://support.networkoptix.com/hc/en-us/sections/32712207802519-How-to-get-started
After that section is read and comprehended naturally one could proceed with “How to create a Video Analytics Plugin” section:
