NX Witness Client update compatibility
Completed-
Aaron,
Compatibility mode occurs when the client you’re using is too old/out of date to be used for the current server version. For example: 5.1.x upgrades to 6.0.x would run into this as the 5.1.x client is not compatible with the 6.0.x server.
To mitigate functionality issues, we instead launch a “compatible” mode which is simply just the 6.0.x client loaded in a different directory (installed from the server).
To avoid compatibility mode you just need to run the 6.0.x client installation on the machine to update the client. At that point once it’s updated there will no longer be a need for compatibility mode.
As for the password, if you update the client it may remember the saved login. If it doesn’t, please note that Network Optix does not set your password, it was set by the initial user who installed and configured the VMS in your environment. If that person is available then I would check with them.
But as I stated, this may not be necessary after you formally update the client application on your machine.
Thank you.
