Weird issue of not enough licenses when other servers are offline
CompletedI have an unusual issue that you might want to rework how the licensing is handled.
I have a hive system setup with 3 DVRs in separate locations, connected over the internet.
- Server 1: 12 licenses, 10 cameras. (two spares)
- Server 2: 8 Licenses, 10 cameras. (borrowing two licenses from somewhere)
- Server 3: 18 Licenses, 16 cameras. (two spares)
Today I was doing work on Server 1 that required me to delete a camera and re-add it. Right as I was getting started there was a major internet outage on Servers 2 & 3 that has lasted hours and still ongoing.
For some reason after deleting the camera from Server 1 and re-adding it, I can't setup the recording because I don't have enough licenses. The Hive seems thinks there are 26 total cameras, but only one server available and the 12 licenses registered to it. So it doesn't have enough licenses to activate another recording. I get a message along the lines of needing 17 more licenses to enable recording.
Maybe there needs to be a way to see which cameras are assigned to which license and allow a local license to be prioritized for use on local cameras.
Theoretically the entire hive should have 2 free recording licenses, so it seems crazy that I can't enable a new recording channel on a server which itself has more than enough licenses for the number of cameras directly attached.
