My usecase:

My NXwitness on-prem server is used for both day to day operations and also for critical operations.  In my day to day configuration I have 20+ users with "Advanced User" role assigned so those users can interact with the cameras PTZ. 

During times of critical operations I'd like to be able to quickly toggle everyone with "Advanced Viewer" over to "Live Viewer". The caveat is that upon completion of the critical operation I want to be able to revert the changes. 

I'm not sure if this is possible and if it is, what is the most efficient way to accomplish the bulk role changes and restoration. Is there a way to interface with the user DB or some API calls that can be used. 

Performing these changes through the GUI user management tool is very labor intensive and prone to error.

  For the objective you have, you could use server REST API.
