Zoom and size controls for the embedded browser
AnsweredHi.
Is it possible for you to add some zoom and size controls for the embedded browser?
Its very hard, or some times even impossible to get responsive webpages to look OK inside Nx.
For example if I want to add several webpages on a layout with floorplan as a background.
In other solutions I have seen that it`s possible to set the width and height in px + the zoom% to give some controls to how the site is rendered inside a window.

Hi, Fredrik Ahlsen

My experience is that our new Chromium browser is handling all sites very well. I haven't received or encountered any negative experiences so far.
Do you have an example of a website that works not as it is expected? Why do you need several webpages to put as a background? (would one big one be better?)
But anyway, zoom is a great idea, and I've been thinking about that, too. Maybe as it works in Chrome ("Ctrl/Cmd" + "+"). We will consider that, thanks.
BTW, size may be changed via changing the size of the item on the grid (you can also use the locked grid for that, see example below)
But yeah, it doesn't change the website's size/scale, only the resolution of the window.0 -
I like to use it to build better maps with integrations with other systems.
For example a control panel built with sharptools.io, a parking management system, a people counting system.
But it do not look very good:
Here is one of my layouts from sharpytools that I'm not able to get displayed in nx in a good way.

If I just open one webpage in fullscreen often looks OK, I can agree to that. But that takes away most of the point of having them inside NX.
If I just want to open one standalone webpage I can just as well use a real browser. The real power come when its possible to combine background, webpages and cameras in one nice layout.
So if a webpage resource can have an independent set of settings to choose render size and zoom level, for both small and fullscreen windows then we can build some really nice layouts.0 -
I would also like to see a way to prevent webpages from reloading when I switch layouts.
So an option for each website resource to keep the connection open in background when I switch to a different tab.0 -
Fredrik – I understand your problems.
We'll try to do something about it.
