    Hi Tyler Boodman,

Your assumption is correct. After the initialisation, an unique camera ID will be assigned to the device and the IP address isnt important anymore, it can change without an issue as long it is reachable.

Thank you! Also completely off topic, but I saw there's a new 5.0 Beta. Does the upcoming 5.0 allow for sending a HTTP request trigged by a "Network issue" or "Camera Issue" and allow for dynamic fields of which camera it is, etc? Right now I believe HTTP requests can only be triggered from Generic/Analytic events? Thanks.

    Hi Tyler Boodman,

You can use the Do HTTP request action, for any event, not only for the Generic or Analytics events. This is possible since the introduction of the Do HTTP request action, and will be possible in 5.0 as well.

So if I do "Network Issue" as the trigger and do the Do HTTP request action, is there any dynamic fields to send which camera had the issue as data in the http request? The API documentation I think said there wasn't many dynamic fields unless it's Generic or Analytic Event.

I read some random post from years ago saying that a 4.3 update might have more dynamic fields, but it sounds like now 4.3 is being skipped and now it's 5.0?

I'm basically trying to send to an external app that a camera had an issue, and it would send the cameras IP, name, etc.

    Hi Tyler Boodman,

Please check THIS support article about the use of dynamic fields. These dynamic fields are available in the latest patch of 4.2.

4.3 as a name was skipped indeed and renamed to 5.0, since major changes were added to the upcoming release.

You set up a rule for the camera for any event, with the Do HTTP request with the applicable information included, and an additional rule with the Generic Event with the applicable parameter to receive the HTTP request and assign the desired action with the correct name.
