Hikvision LPR Issue
AnsweredHi,
Previously we used the Hikvision DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZS/P for our LPR and it worked perfectly. We urgently need to install LPR cameras but we can not get our standard model.
We arranged a Hikvision iDS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHS and we could not get the LPR bookmarks working. I saw in previous tickets logged that the LPR integration is not supported for the camera and the only Hikvision models supported are DS-2CD4A26FWD-(IZHS)(LZS)/P and DS-2CD7A26G0/P-(LZ(H)S)(IZ(H)S) - we unfortunately cant get either models.
I know Vivotek LPR cameras are also supported, but in our past experience, they do not perform as well as the Hikvision LPR cameras. Are the 2 Hikvision and Vivotek cameras the only cameras that support LPR at the moment or can you recommend any other camera?
Regards,
Reynard

Hi Reynard Bubb,
The LPR event of Hikvision iDS-2CD7A26G0 should work with Nx now. Please make sure both camera firmware and Nx software are up to date. Could you elaborate on the details about bookmark problem and share the version that you are testing now?
Thank you.

Hi Wendy Chuang
it is great to know that Hikvision iDS-2CD7A26G0 LPR event is already integrated. Is there any other models or brands LPR integrated other than the previous ones?

Tolga

Hi,
The camera is loaded on the VMS and we can see the camera capturing license plates on the web page. The camera analytic rules are configured in the VMS as we do for DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZS/P which is working fine. There are no bookmarks created in Nx Witness and I don't see any error messages in the server logs.
The camera is on firmware version V5.5.130_210609 that I have read should contain ISAPI support again. We cant seem to get the camera upgraded to V5.6 or V5.7.
We tested the camera Nx Witness 4.2.0.34125 and on 4.2.0.33308

See The Integration store for the known LPR solutions. Besides these applications, there are also numerous cameras and applications that can sent HTTP request to the Nx Witness server in case of an LPR event.

Hi Reynard Bubb,
You wrote there are no bookmarks created. Have to tried to assign another action to the LPR event, like a Desktop Notification? Does the Desktop Notification appear or is it abundant as well?
Did you enable Notify Surveillance Center as the Linkage Method?

Thank you Tolga, I will look at the cameras that can send HTTP requests to Nx Witness - I know Vivotek is one of them. I would like to get the Hikvision DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZS/P working on the platform as well.

Hi Norman
Even the Hikvision iDS-2CD7A26G0 LPR camera mentioned by Wendy is not in integration market place. When i check the in camera analytics integration article Hikvision iDS-2CD7A26G0 is not in that list too. My question was exactly about this, what else are already integrated but not in integration market place yet.

Hi Reynard Bubb,
Can you make the device accessible trough port forwarding, so I can add it to my testlab for further investigations? If that is the case, I'll transfer this topic into a ticket, so you can share the credentials privatly.
Hi Tolga Altun,
The integration marketplace lists all 3rd party software application. In-Camera analytics are listed in THIS support article, these are based on the mentioned API documentation, and any model that uses the mentioned API, typically should work with Nx, like the mentioned Hikvision LPR camera.
We don't have a list of devices that use these APIs, but we are investigating if we can add the analytics information in our supported device lists. But this listed for the future (date of availability to be determined).

Hi Norman,
Under the Road Traffic -> Detection Configuration -> Arming schedule and Linkage Method, Notify Surveillance Center has been checked.
I have created a rule for each LPR event available and I added the additional rule to create a desktop event and nothing happens when a plate is captured on the camera.

Reyanrd

Was resolved by using camera firmware V5.5.130_210510.
