    Hi Guilhem Decoux,

If you are using the Focus + and Focus - buttons, they should work in the Onvif Device Manager and thus in Nx Witness.

If that isn't the case, you could use the option to use our rules engine, select the appropriate Soft Trigger and set Do HTTP Request as the action and add the right HTTP API call to it.

    Hello Norman,

I checked in ODM and can't find the Focus button in it.

What you mean is that as soon as ODM show a focus settings button, I should ha*ve the same button showed in Nx Interface ?

Can you send me a screenshot of where it will be displayed ? I will forward o my customer for this rail camera project.

    Thanks

    Hi Guilhem Decoux,

In Nx Witness, you should enable the PTZ controls (1) and then the + and - controls are shown (2).

In the Onvif Device Manager, you navigate to the PTZ controls menu (1) and there you can find the + and - controls as well (2) if the device uses the Onvif for this purpose.

    Hello Norman,

We are not talking about the same thing since beggining !

I'm looking for focus control, not the zoom control !

For my rail project Focus buttons are used for horizontal move on the camera.

We can get FOCUS control in Nx GUI ?

    Hi Guilhem Decoux,

You're right. Next time, I should finish my coffee before replying. ;-)

We don't have focus controls in the Nx GUI, but I assume that can be done with the Soft Trigger events and the Do HTTP request action

If you don't know these API commands, you should be able to capture these with Wireshark when you move the unit with another application.

    Hi,

I was really scarry my question was so stupid that you would decide not to help me anymore !

As using soft trigger I'm afrai it will not be suitable as we need someting as accurate as PTZ control...

I will forward the post to our SI to test it.

    Hi Guilhem Decoux,

Don't be scared. There is nothing stupid about your question.
And I couldn't blame anyone for stupidity at this moment, since I initially messed up ZOOM and FOCUS. ;-)

In theory, the soft triggers should be performing identical to manual PTZ controls.
