Hi there,

Are there any cameras that are supported with edge recording ? 

I'm thinking in a situation with the camera recording its meta data (as I'm told Bosch cameras can) whilst also being recorded as per normal within Nx. If the server goes offline then comes back on, Nx then able to access the cameras SD card for the 'offline' recordings.

I have been told by a Bosch distributor that the latest Bosch integration to Nx is likely to handle this- although they have yet to prove this to me.

If so, can you please let me know which make/models can do so and/or if this is on a roadmap?

  Hi Glynn Thomas,

  Currently, there not option to use edge recording.

  We prefer the use of our failover option, since it is a faster and more reliable operation with better redundancy in a system.

  That being said, we acknowledge the requests, and we should implement Onvif Profile G one day. In this way we are able to implement edge storage retrieval for multiple camera brands at once that are Onvif Profile G compliant.

  Hi Vincent LAPENDRY,

  Currently, the status is 'In progress', meaning the first lines of code are written, but it won't be available in 5.0 for sure. Maybe in the version after that, but can't offer any guarantees.

  Is this feature still not completed in version 5.x? Does version 4.2 have this feature? Because we are using Lilin cameras to achieve this functionality in version 4.2, but it doesn't work in version 5.x.

  Hi Kenny,

  This is Bosch topic or ONVIF Profile G related. Your customer is on Lilin, they are different cases.

  As far as we know, this should be firstly check by Lilin if their legacy API could work with their new models or etc. It is suggested you may talk to Lilin first and confirm the API can work compatibly.
