Uniview analytics
AnsweredWhy is Uniview analytics not supported yet?
-
Hi Adam anderson,
The support of the Uniview in-camera analytics event has been noted on our product roadmap, but I am not able to provide any firm schedule or support version by now.
We do understand it would be nice to support the in-camera analytics. However, I hope you understand that for any feature or feature change we have to make choices to what we spend our resources on and at the moment. Priorities might change if more use cases are shared on this topic by other users as well. I hope you understand our current situation.
May I know which in-camera analytics you are asking for? If the requirement is from a specific project, likely you can contact the local distributor to work on it. Where are you based at the moment? We can bridge you and the local distributor for such requests accordingly.
Thank you.

Hi Adam Anderson,
Maybe nice to know, but in the near future we'll add Onvif Analytics as well, which enables analytics for all compatible devices.
Another option you could use today is our OpenVINO plugin. This just rocks!

Following for replies. I've submitted a question (and had a similar response) along these lines to NX, UNV, and Nelly's. Cam in question for me is IPC672LR-AX4DUPKC. It is an inexpensive PTZ with person detection auto tracking - I'd like that detection to report to NX to create an event.

Hi luke richmond,
If the camera has the ability to send HTTP request based on these events, you can receive the events today as a generic event as described today. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until we added the Onvif analytics events to Nx, if the camera supports Onvif analytics events of course.
If you can't wait or the camera doesn't support Onvif Analytics, you could create some sort of middleware with node.js for example.
With Wireshark, you capture the correct HTTP request of the camera in case of an event, with the listener in your application you capture these HTTP events and also send a Generic event to Nx Witness.

Hello Norman,
Unfortunately Uniview cameras do not support any kind of HTTP request.
The only way I see of creating a middleware is by using an FTP server with a script that detected when is a file created and then notifies NxWitness of that event. This is however.... highly impractical and can be slower than a normal HTTP notification or a direct integration.
I have seen a lot of analytics integration, but none for Uniview. Is there any reason behind the fact that there is no Analytics integration whatsoever with Uniview?
What can we do to push for this integration?

Hi Miguel Câmara,
The Uniview integration is in progress at the moment and should become available in one of the upcoming 5.0 patches.

Hello Norman - Nx Support,
We've been doing a workaround where we connected wires from the Output to Input of the Uniview cameras so that we get a "input signal" event on NxWitness everytime there is an Analytics Event on the camera.
However, this seems to also not be working 100%, where we sometimes miss the input signal notifications on NxWitness, for some reason. I will create a new ticket for this issue, but would like to leave a note here for other people that might be having a similar issue.
In the meantime, the solution for this would be to not use any workaround and get the analytics working.
Can you check internally there are any news about Uniview analytics integration in NxWitness or if there is any "beta patch" which might have the analytics working?

Hello Miguel Câmara,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to inform you that the release of the Uniview analytics plugin is currently scheduled for version 5.1, which we anticipate will be launched later this year, possibly in the second quarter. You can test the Beta version with the plugin already.
Thank you, and please let me know if you have any further questions.
Best regards.
