User between admin and advanced

Hi.
Can I please request the ability to create a custom role, that has the ability to create a user, see other users and share layouts, without camera settings access (or other installer/administrator access).
The current administrator access has too much access for an end user- they ability to really change the camera settings and screw things up etc. They have full administrator access which is really more suited for a technician.
We have end users who should be able to create other users as well as being able to share layouts. I am thinking rather than a predefined user type, a custom role would be more versatile. That way we could create a user that has the ability to add a users, share layouts, see other users etc as well as create a slightly lower level user who cannot create new users, but can see others and share layouts.
If I could have this by next week, that would fantastic !! ;-) (just kidding)

I just need a role that can administer users in the "viewer" role, rename cameras (but not anything else). Think of this new role as an "admin assistant". Right now I have the issue of how to hide certain sensitive cameras from the admin role, but still keep the ability for the admin assistant to do their jobs. The only thing i can do at this point is to install a new server not merged with the other 10 to accomplish this and have the owner log in separately to see the sensitive cameras.
It's been a few years and I know this is a popular request.. Maybe by 6.0?1 -

"Event rules" should also be possible to enable for custom roles.

We're getting a lot of request about our user management system, including the ones about introducing an intermediate role between admin and advanced viewer.
Can't give you any estimates right now, but we definitely will be working in this direction.
About custom roles for the event rules – I don't think it is easily doable. To configure Event Rules user should have access to all servers, cameras and layouts and see all users. Also some things, which can be configured in the Event Rules are quite critical and can affect the entire system. It looks like only admin users should be able to do it.

I'm sorry to say, but it won't be included in the 4.2 or 4.3 releases.
We count on the 4.4 release to have major user management improvements.

For 4.3 – cannot give you any exact dates. Probably, this year.
