Linux client issues

Client starts, but cannot maximise, and hides top bar. Running Pop_OS! 20.04 (based on Ubuntu 20.04). I can test on vanilla Ubuntu 18/20.04 if needed.

I currently use Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, 19.10, and 20.04 LTS on various devices and no problem at all.
Be aware that there are many Debian/Ubuntu derivatives, but we solely support the Ubuntu LTS versions. Currently, these are 16.04 LTS, 18.04 LTS, and from 4.1 onwards also 20.04 LTS.
I will set up a PopOS VM later and will try it out and let you know if I face the same issue.

Luckily Linux VMs are quickly set up and I finished the brief test and didn't encounter any issue in VirtualBox.

Not sure what is causing the issue, I'll ask our developers if they have a clue if it is just a setting somewhere in PopOS. -

Please check the following.
- Open the Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T)
- Enter the following command:
echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
- Please, share the output.
- Enter the following command:
wmctrl -m
- Please, share the output.
- Enter the following command:
echo $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP
It might be necessary to install wmctrl first. You can do that with the following command:
sudo apt-get install wmctrl
In my case the following output was provided:

OK, some more oddness:
It works very nicely if I set my resolution to something other than the native 1920x1080. Works fine at 1680x1050(16:10) and 1600:900(16:9). Switching back to 1920x1080 reverts to the original behaviour.
(On Pop_OS! - the install on Ubuntu 20.04 at 1920x1080 was fine)

Some progress!
Running
QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0 /opt/networkoptix/client/4.1.0.31398/bin/nxwitness_client
makes it behave normally. If this isn't something that's only affecting me, hopefully there's something the boffins can do to sort it without too much bother.
I'll spin up a test ISO of Ubuntu 20.04 on this hardware tomorrow, and see if it does the same there.

Thank you for your efforts and feedback. I have created a task for our developers to investigate and resolve this issue in one of the upcoming monthly patches (not the first one from now, since it is about to be released).

Hi, sorry to resurrect an old thread.
I'm using the Linux client v5.1.0.37133 on Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS.
I'm experiencing an issue where the client won't go to full screen. the top activity bar and "taskbar" would disappear but the client window won't fill the screen. (Same behavior as in the orignal post but in ubuntu)
It only appears if the scaling is at or above 200% fractional scaling or not other wise the full screen is working. Is this a known issue or is a fix available or needs time ?
