Video Upload to Nx Meta Server via API Not Working on Ubuntu
In ProgressHi,
I’m trying to use the Nx Meta Server API to upload a video from a computer and add it to a virtual camera. This process works perfectly on a Windows-based server, but I encounter an issue on an Ubuntu-based server:
- The virtual camera is successfully added and appears on the server.
- However, the camera content is empty, meaning the video does not seem to be uploaded.
Here’s what I’ve checked so far:
- Verified that the API calls and configurations are identical on both systems.
- Ensured the necessary read/write permissions are granted on the Ubuntu server for the Nx Meta application.
- Checked the video file format and codec compatibility (the same videos work fine on Windows).
- Confirmed that required dependencies (e.g., FFmpeg) are installed and properly configured on Ubuntu.
Despite these efforts, the issue persists. Is there an additional configuration or dependency required to enable this functionality on Ubuntu?
Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have suggestions for resolving this?
Thank you!

Hello ali dari,
We need more details in order to help you.
Such as:
- What is the Media Server version you're using?
- Did you try doing the regular routine of adding the Virtual Camera using the Desktop GUI? If not - please do and let us know the results. It's utilizing merely the same API calls as ones available for the public use.
- If the above works, please provide us with the code sample you're trying to invoke to upload the file and make the virtual camera process it.
