Achieving 100% Failover between 4 servers with 289 cameras
AnsweredHi ,
We are gong to implement a system where there is 289 cameras, the storage is by means of a SAN Storage ,and we have 4 recoding server and all servers distributed with each server having 90 MBPS band with worth of cameras (server-1with 72 cameras , server-2 with 72 cameras 72,server-3 with 72 cameras ,server-4 with 73 cameras ) . In this setup ,is it possible to achieve 100% redundancy in case if upto 3 servers go offline, can the 4th server handle the failover of 289 cameras?? .

Hi Leny, keep in mind that currently the camera limit per server is 128. I believe this is being raised to 256 with the release of v6.0.

Hi Leny,
Lloyd is right, the current limitation per server is 128 cameras and it will be raised to 256 in Gen6.
So, if 3 servers go offline, the last one will accept only 128-72=56 cameras.

Appreciate the quick response, can we get any info on
1. when the newer version will be released and
2.if we implement the system before the release of the Gen 6 version, can we have free upgrade to Gen 6 once it is released.
