Sound permissions
NewHi there!
This question have rised four years ago (https://support.networkoptix.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360039254954-User-Permission-Audio?input_string=sound%20permissions,
then two years ago (https://support.networkoptix.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/4414027947287-Users-Audio-Permissions?input_string=sound%20permissions)
As a rule, every CCTV system has few levels of the operators. Some of them may or must hear the audio from cameras, some - not. And this option is not implemented till now, in spite of the promises. Please, answer about any perspective of this problem. Nx successfully works more then in 10 casinos (in Ukraine and Georgia, in few casinos Nx will be bought till the end of the year) - we hope about this feature be implemented.

Hi Guys,
Ye we have a similar request. We have 30 odd sites that we have installed NX at. Almost all of those sites require Audio permissions. In Queensland Australia, the law states that it is illegal to record conversations, however in certain circumstances they can be used in a court ruling. The easy way to fix that would be to not allow users to have access to the audio stream, but to let police have access to it - possibly by the owners account or a specific user account that could be setup for use b police or an elevated operator. I would assume that other countries have a similar privacy act in place.
Any chance this could be implemented as there seems to be a very real use case, and is integrators are not asking for this, they probably should be.
Kind Regards
Ben

Hi all,
I'm pleased to announce that we have begun working on a separate audio permission feature. We plan to include it in the next major release following gen6, with an estimated time of arrival in Q1 2025.
I acknowledge that this has been requested for some time, and I want to assure you that it is in progress. Thank you for your feedback!
