Hi Norman,
it would be nice if I could get more support here. We are a German installer and look after thousands of customers. We want to establish NX in 2024. Unfortunately, we keep having problems with hardware decoding. I'm currently sitting in front of a server/client with Quicksync and I can't activate this option. What can I do?

Hi Claudius,
I'm kind of surprised about the high CPU load, and for a typical server setup, the load should be much lower.
Are you using the latest build? Version 5.1.1.37512?
However, if you use a VM to run the client, we must advise against it, since it will take up much more CPU/GPU load. VMs are supported for the server applications, however for the client we don't support it officially. It depends a bit on the OS you're using, but you might be able to force the client to use the GPU as much as possible. See THIS random online article with the instructions for Windows and THIS one for Ubuntu.
In the future, we'll support hardware decoding for Nvidia GPU cards as well.

Hello Claudius,
I wanted to share that, currently, there are no plans for hardware decoding on the ARM architecture. Additionally, there are no immediate plans to officially support an ARM client, except for the macOS ARM client, which is already available.
The same applies to the RPI5. As it is a recent release, and we've already completed the code-freeze for version 6.0, I don't anticipate any changes in the near future. But I hope it will be supported for version 6.1 or perhaps 6.0.1.JIRA-VMS-44278
