Command to opens videos from 3rd party software

Hi,

I have a 3rd party control software and I need to open video from cameras on the NX Witness VMS client software.

Just to be clarified: I want to send commands from my software to the NX Witness so that video will be displayed within the client software.

In other VMSs I think it is called PLC (Programmable logic controller).

Can anyone help find the right commands to do so?

  Hey Yariv -

  A real simple way to do this would be to use Generic Event and create a rule for the Generic Event in Rules Engine to Open Layout as an Action to accomplish this, but you'll need to have predefined Layout. 

  I'm sure you can do this with API calls (other than CreateEvent API call used in Generic Event) as well but I'll let our engineers respond with specifics in that case.

  In addition to what Tony proposed, you can use the Show on Alarm layout action: https://www.networkoptix.com/2016/05/24/tip-use-alarm-layout/
  
  we have several partners that have similar use cases as you described and they use the Show on Alarm layout action in the Event Rules section.
