How to view footage on harddrives from a server with hardware failure

Is there a tutorial on how to view footage from the harddrive obtained from a server that has failed.  We also have footage backing up through wave to separate drive that's hidden. If the main server is stolen, what is the process to view that footage from this backup drive. In both scenarios the original server with its unique HWID is not available any longer, but we have the footage on the harddrives.
