Video Card Compatibility
AnsweredHi,
Can you confirm to me if the Nvidia RTX A2000 is/will be supported for video decoding in Nx 5.1 ?
Thanks,
Vincent

Dear Vincent THUNOT,
I wanted to inform you that Nvidia video decoding will not be supported in the upcoming version 5.1. Please note that at this time, only Intel CPU hardware decoding is currently supported.
Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Norman,
It's not that Bram (from Nx in Belgium) said to me... He showed to me that I can select directly in Windows the use of my Nvidia Graphics. And when he opened up the soft with his Nvidia Geforce (not my case, i have RTX), he can optimize the application...
Can you tell me exactly (not just requirements that I already know) the relevant parameters to design the system (memory cache, frequency, etc...) please ?
I designed and deployed a PC that filled the requirements but I have a latency when too many streams are displayed. I tried to force the resolution to High (8 streams full HD on 55" * 2) because it's a client needs and it's not working properly.
Does the requirements made in the case of Nx downgrade the stream to the secondary ? If yes, I think that it's very urgent to implement nvidia decoding...
Thanks,
Vincent

Hi Vincent THUNOT,
The solution Bram showed you, was to workaround driver issues with some Intel onboard GPUs, which Intel is working to resolve, if they haven't done this already. However, you can work around this issue by assigning the GPU to the Nx Witness client application.
To do so, simply navigate to Display --> Graphic Settings --> Browse --> Nx Desktop client --> Options --> High Performance --> Save.
We plan to support native hardware decoding for Nvidia GPUs in the future, and we hope to add this feature in version 5.2, but I never make hard promises about new features to avoid dissapointments.
Please note that we have hardware recommendations for specific setups, and if you deviate from these recommendations, additional testing may be required. Due to the vast array of CPU models, casings, and cooling configurations, we are unable to provide guidance for every possible configuration.
Regarding the Intel GPU, we would like to clarify that for hardware decoding, it doesn't make a difference since this feature is intended for the CPU.Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
