What are Events?
The Nx Witness Rules Engine (aka Event Rules) allows operators to create Rules based on Events the System generates.
There are, generally speaking, three types of Events:
User Defined Events
User Defined Events are custom Events which must be programmed by a user before they can be utilized and include:
- Analytics Event
- HTTP Generic Event (covered in Advanced Training)
- Input Signal on Device
- Motion on Camera
- Plugin Event
- Soft Trigger
Default Events
Default Events are configurable Events which are populated in the Rules Engine when a new Nx Witness System is installed.
- Archive Backup Finished
- Device Disconnected
- Device IP Conflict
- License Issue
- Network Issue
- Server Conflict
- Server Failure
- Server Started
- Storage Issue
System Generated Events
System Generated Events are built-in Events which the System will generate a notification to operators and cannot be modified by System users.
- Archive Integrity Check Failure
- Email Address Not Set
- Email Not Set for Users
- Email Server Not Configured
- Error while Sending Email
- Licenses Not Configured
- Reindexing Archive Canceled
- Reindexing Archive Complete
- Remote Archive Synchronization
- Storage not Configured
- System in Safe Mode
