More than one item can be added to a layout simultaneously regardless of their source (live cameras, local video, images, etc.).
Nx Witness allows up to 64 items on a 64-bit operating system.
To add item(s) to a layout:
- Double-click on the item in Resource Panel
- Select Open from Context Menu in Resource Panel.
- Multiple items can be selected and added (Ctrl + Shift and select the desired items).
- Drag and drop from Resource Panel
- Ctrl + drag and drop items onto a scene to duplicate. To avoid duplication, release Ctrl and hit Esc while holding left mouse button.
- Hold Ctrl or use a mouse to select multiple items on scene. To select all items, use Ctrl + A.
- Open local file(s) or folder from Content Menu to add files to layout.
New items will automatically occupy all available space. The aspect ratio of grid cells will automatically adjust to aspect ratio of an existing item to occupy the space.
To open items directly from a new tab:
- Select desired item(s) from Resource Tree, right-click and select Open in a new tab
- Drag the selected item(s) from the Resource Tree and drop them on the Navigation Panel
- Ctrl + drag and drop items from scene to Tab Navigator (Multi-Selection can be applied). To prevent duplication, release Ctrl and hit Esc while holding left mouse button.
How to configure a layout using search:
- Type any characters into the search box. The results will appear automatically.
- Press Enter to add the items from the search result to the layout or press Ctrl + Enter to open the items in a new layout.
- Save the configured layout.
How to lock a layout:
- The Administrator creates a layout and adds all desired items to the layout.
- Right-click anywhere in the grid (except on a camera itself) and select Layout Settings.
- Toggle the Locked button in the General tab of the Layout Settings menu that just opened.
- Click OK and the layout will be saved with the chosen Locked state.
How to set a minimum grid size:
- Right-click anywhere in the grid (except on a camera itself) and select Layout Settings.
- Enable a Minimum Gird size by changing the Width and Height values in the General tab of the Layout Settings menu that just opened.
When these values are set, the grid can't auto-resize to a smaller grid, but when adding items to the layout the maximum grid size remains 64 items in a single layout.
