What is the WebAdmin client?
The WebAdmin client provides a simple and convenient way for system operators and administrators to view live or recorded video and do some configurations of the Server and System settings via a web browser.
How to access WebAdmin client?
Through the Desktop client
Option 1:
- Right-click the system name at the top of the resource panel.
- Select Open Web Client. The WebAdmin client opens for the server you are currently connected to.
Option 2:
- Right-click on the server name in the resource panel.
- Select Server Web Page. The WebAdmin client opens for the server you selected.
Through the Web Browser:
- Open the browser and enter the following address:
http://<server_ip>:<server_port>
server_ip = the IP address or URL of the Server you are requesting this information from.
server_port = the port your System is using (default = 7001)
Example: http://192.168.178.10:7001 - Log in to the WebAdmin client with your username and password.
NOTE: The WebAdmin client supports the following browsers:
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Safari
- Opera
- Edge
WebAdmin client interface
When you access the WebAdmin client, and you select the <SYSTEM_NAME> an additional menu opens and provides access to:
- The four tabs, as shown in the header
- Different Services (Downloads, Supported Devices, Integrations)
- For Developers (API Documentation, Generic Events Generator, Developer Support)
- External Links (Hardware Calculator, Support)
The 4 tabbed pages are accessible to operators depending on their user permissions:
- View
- Settings
- Information
- Monitoring
View
The View tab opens a browser-based client for viewing live/recorded video from a System.
Camera Panel (Left)
The Camera Panel in the web client allows operators to find and view live or recorded video from a System.
Camera View (after selecting a camera)
- Adaptive Video – Video streams will display in hi-res or lo-res depending on network speed. It can be manually changed. Depending on the CPU resources, transcoding into additional resolutions is also possible.
- Camera Details – Provides details about a camera to assist developers during integration and testing:
- Name
- CameraID
- IP Address or URL
- View
- Low stream
- High stream
- Transcoding
Settings
The Settings tab contains two views: Server and System.
Server tab
The Server tab allows System Owners and Administrators to view and modify settings for a Server.
- System Administration
- General – To change some general settings for the server
- Licenses – To activate additional license keys for the server and view the active licenses on the server
- Cameras – To change some general setting for the selected camera
- Users – To activate, remove, or deactivate users to the system
- Servers
- To restart the Server application
- Reset the Server application
- Change the default port to access the Server application
- Move the Analytics database
- Adding external storage
- Reindexing the archive
Information
The Information tab provides information about:
- Alerts – Issues that occur or have been occurring in the system
- System – General system information like:
- Amount of servers
- Amount of cameras
- Amount of storage locations
- Amount of users
- System version
- Cloud system ID
- Servers – Information about the:
- Availability (Status, Events, Uptime)
- Load (CPU and RAM)
- Info (Public IP, OS Time, Events)
- Cameras – Information about the:
- Info (Server, Type, IP, Recording)
- Availability (Status, Events)
- Primary Stream and Secondary Stream (Resolution, Actual FPS, Average FPS)
- Storage Analytics (Archive, Recording Bitrate)
- Storage Locations – Information about the different storage locations:
- Info (Server, Type)
- State (Status, Issues)
- Activity (Read and Write Rate)
- Space (Total, VMS Media)
- Network Interfaces – Information about the available network interfaces
- Info (Server, State, IP)
- I/O Rates (In and Out Rate)
In this tab, you also have the option to Download Full Report in JSON format.
Monitoring
The Settings tab contains three views: Graphs, Storage, and Log.
- Graphs – Displays a real-time graph of Server performance indicators: CPU, RAM, HDDs, and NIC.
- Log – Contains the last 1,000 lines of the system logs.
